Tap Dance Classes

Tap dance is a style that concentrates on footwork and rhythm. A dance step is tapped out audibly with the feet, when the small metal plates on the dancer's shoes touch the hard floor. The lively, rhythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer but also a percussive musician.

Directions Dance Academy offers two types of Tap classes.

Open Tap: freestyle, no exams, performance component
Adult Tap: free style, no exams, performance component
