Otway Pork - Bred Free-Range

Because of growing consumer awareness and concern for the welfare of farmed animals for food we are now offering our customers a choice of purchasing fresh pork and ham products made from fresh pork that is grown ethically, sustainably and guaranteed to be true to origin.

Otway Pork "bred free-range" is now newly available at Wursthaus locations staewide. Otway pork is produced using RSPCA Approved farming methods and they do not usesow stalls or farrowing cages for any of their pig production.

All Otway pork is outdoor bred with sows allowed to roam and exhibit natural behaviours and are able to nest and have their young in individual huts where they are free to move about and come and go at will. Once weaned, porkers are grown out in large eco shelters with protection from harsh sunlight and weather conditions and are kept on straw not concrete. Otway pork is regularly audited by RSPCA inspectors so that the highest possible standards of animal welfare are maintained.
